Three Victorian Ladies by Stahlrose Three Victorian Ladies by Stahlrose
After I've caught some malicious stuff last summer on my computer and after I removed this mess, nothing really worked as it should, I now managed to set it up again and get my photoshop working again *sigh*

I made that shot in september, my models are: Velvetrealm and Tuahadedana (the black gowns on the top)
And Genovefa von Unruh

Picture editing was done by me as well *hugs wacom tablet*

The great bustle gowns were sewn by my friends

*sigh* Gowns like this always make me wish I could sew or that I had someone to teach me so I could learn to sew. I desperately want to make some historical dresses, especially WWI era and Victorian. *sigh* Your friends don't take custom work, do they?

Well, one of these ladies is a professional tailor - like me :)
But I can't take commissions until autumn, if you can't wait, you can contact Xanti via Facebook (I'll give you a link then) or another way :)

How much would you charge to make a dress? I would love to have one of these creations, if only to look at. Where are you based? Do you make the undergarments necessary for the look as well? Are the dresses durable?

Where did you do the research to find the styles and blueprints, if you will, of these dresses?

Please reply, I am very seriously interested in this...

Hi!

Sorry for the late reply, I havent been here for a long time, life sometimes takes it's toll ;)

I am from Germany, and yes, my gowns are high quality, I only choose good materials - at least those gowns are made to wear them :)

I work with genuine victorian patterns, there are several books as well as online sources, and I make some of the patterns myself, following the shapes of real victorian garments.
Everything that has to be worn underneath is made by me as well.

Those dresses are very time consuming to make, so you would have to spennd about 800-1000 euros at least - but that depends on fabrics and trims as well.

*whistle*

Okay, while I am sure they are worth that much, and I kind of expected that, that is a bit out of my price range. Your work is beautiful! Spectacular! Amazing! Breath taking!

There aren't words to describe how awe-inspiring your work is.

I wish I had the money to buy one... :)
