I made this dress about one year ago, but finally I decided to submit it as well although the Pictures are not too good.
My boyfriend made them very late at the evening and the light was not the best one, I hope you can see everything so far
This gown is named after one of the most famous "parties" at my favourite club - a gothic club here about less than an hour to drive from where I live - called "Göttertanz".
With this dress I wear a purchased bride's hoop skirt, but I'm not very pleased with it because its bright white and if you dance nothing is more better to see than a white underskirt under a black gown in a black club where everything and everyone else is pitch-black
I'm planning to make myself a better one with frills over the hoops so that they can't be seen at the overskirt.
The overskirt is a simple self-drafted pattern for everyday long skirts that I use very often, but this time cut four pieces rather than two and gathered at the top to a waistband.
The bodice is made from an old 70s pattern that my mother still kept in her sewing stuff. It is my favourite pattern, you can change it in so many ways and with the right color an trimmings it is just perfect for gothic clothing
This one is made of (obvious ) black satin, like the matching skirt and trimmed with black velvet applications, ornamental trimmings and lots of black an silver paillettes and rocailles.
I love the clothes you make. I think it's amazing that people can do this! Being able to sew is one thing that truly amazes me, probaby because I have absolutely no ability for that. I would love to play dress up in these kinds of things. Well, the men's things. If I wore the women's things, I guess it would be cross-dress up. And I imagine you'd have to let them out a bit.
I wish my boyfriend had the same opinion than you - about the wearing something like that as well thing, and of course the men's clothes because I thing he wouldn't look too good in a hoop skirt as well

Thank you
Sadly the violet color in my hair bleached a little bit out as we made these pictures

Rocailles are little glass beads that can be sewn onto fabrics or you can make necklaces etc from them. I didn't quite know if this word exists in english too fo these beads
Pailettes are some kind of round, flat ... things ... with a hole in the middle to sew it on fabrics, in the past they were made of metal. I have some problems to explain I hope this can help: [link]
