Just finished ... the last piece for my clothes for Wave Gotik Treffen.
It's a corset made from black embossed velvet and trimmed with a special braid that allows fake lacings. I've set this one over the side panels (my corset has 5 panels per side), used a black satin ribbon for the lacing and attached silver aiglets to the ends of the ribbons.
I used a 34cm long busk - the longest one I've ever used for one of the corsets I've made for myself, but I have to say that it is the most comfortable corset I have.
I used 14 steel bones inside - spring steels and flat steels.
Th corset should go over a hoop skirt with a satin and lace overskirt and a "victorian" blouse (not made after a historical pattern
it doesn't need to be historical) and if it's getting too cold I've made a dark violet frock coat as well.
